Deceit of Dice

Chapter II – Sick Deeds of Psychos
Once the
Son family was safely inside the walls of Capsule Corp., Gohan and Goten we’re
located to their temporary rooms. The little luggage robots dropped off their
things while Gohan and Goten checked out the room. There were two beds, a chest
of drawers, a window, and a closet. It wasn’t the fanciest room they’ve ever
been in, but it was better than the one at home. Gohan gazed out the window,
reached for the curtains, bringing the ends together. He didn’t want anyone
looking in, it was a bit of a paranoia really then a fear. Looks like I won’t
be getting much sleep tonight, he thought. If someone was really going to kill
his brother, they were going to get through him first.
Just then
he heard the door open, Gohan quickly jumped around into a fighting stance
expecting the worst, when Trunks and Marron came in. Trunks raised a brow at
Gohan, “What’s up with you? ...Hey Goten, you wanna come
play with us? My mom got me some new toys today.”
“Okay!”
Goten chirped happily.
“Um, can I
come too?” asked Gohan.
“Um, okay.
Hey Gohan, later can you teach us some new fighting techniques after Marron
goes to bed?”
“Hey!”
sounded an opposing Marron.
Gohan was
scratching the back of his head, “Sure why not?”
Meanwhile
in the main room, all of the close friends of the Sons and Briefs (Kuririn’s
and Juuhachi-gou with Kamesen’nin and Oolong, Gyuu Maou (Ox King for Dubbie
reference), and Yamucha and Puar) were sitting in a collection of two sofas and
a couple chairs here and there. The
three letters were spread out on the coffee table.
Yamucha
started the conversation, “So let me get this straight. Someone is going to
kill Goten, if we don’t solve this before tomorrow? I mean, for the average
person, this should scare the crap out of someone, but come on! Goten is one of
the strongest kids I know. He could be able to beat the crap out of anyone.”
Puar jumped
in, “I agree with Yamucha-sama, but I still am a little scared.”
Chichi
looked down at her fingers as they fiddled around, “I know, but I don’t want to
take any chances… After loosing Gokuu, I don’t think I could survive another
lose.” Gyuu Maou rested his large hand on her small shoulder to comfort her.
“Well let’s
put the clues together, so far,” Bulma began, “Now it has to be someone the
Gohan knew seven years ago. So we can eliminate any new villain.”
“But what about the colors? What does black, blue, red, yellow, orange mean?” Kuririn
asked.
“It means
who ever is after you, has bad color coordination.” Juuhachi-gou stated.
“From what
we have concluded, is any numbers of persons from that era are now dead. It
could be some bad prank.” Concluded Kamesen’nin.
Bulma
interjected, “Well we’ll have an extra look out for Goten tonight, and we’ll
know in the morning on what to do. Now everyone will spend the night here just
in case and, “ she glared at Vegeta who has been
standing in the doorway for the entire time, listening on the conversation,
“Vegeta won’t have a problem with it. Now will he?”
Vegeta gave
his usual ‘hn’ noises and turned away from Bulma.
Since then
a couple of hours have pasted, it was now
Then next
morning he awoke and to his much surprise jetted up to a sitting position.
Shit! I fell asleep, he cursed in his head. He immediately looked over to
Goten’s bed, he was gone! In his place there lay a note, on blood stained
sheets… How could I have slept through this? Gohan checked around the room,
everything was the same, except for the bed.
Slowly he
crept over to the note and lifted it to his face:
“So I see you couldn’t
solve
Thus a life has been taken
You have six more chances to guess
You have six more lives to protect
You killed your brother
Like you killed your father
What’s big green and powerful?
Something that is not me
Guess who I am
Before it’s too late…”
Gohan
dropped the note as he trembled with a feeling of fear. He couldn’t take
looking at that bed any longer. It had just been last night since he had saw
him peacefully sleeping right in front of him, and now he’s gone. He ran out of
that room, out into the hall, down that hall and into the kitchen where most of
the adults were drinking coffee and making breakfast.
Soon as
Kuririn saw Gohan’s panicked looked he as concerned, “What’s wrong?”
He didn’t
know where to start. Chichi gasped with fright, “Don’t tell me…”
“Mom, I
swear I tried my best!”
She ran off
to the room screaming for her boy, “Goten-chan!!”
Gohan raced
in front of her, he didn’t want her to see the scene. He stood in the doorway extending
his arms out, “Mom, you don’t want to go in there!”
Soon enough
the rest of the gang was behind Chichi pulling her back, but she gave her
mightiest. Finally it took a punch from Vegeta to knock her out. Bulma and Gyuu
Maou took her back to the living room.
The rest
entered the small room. Then Gohan gasped. There was another note on the bed; a
new one had made its way to the bed. “That means he was just here…” he said
aloud.
“What?”
Whispered Kuririn.
Gohan
pointed his shaky finger to the note, “That wasn’t there before…”
Yamucha
gave look of astonishment, “How he’d get in with out us knowing?”
Kuririn
picked up the new letter and from it fell a Polaroid picture of Goten just
before he died. It was a close of his face. He had bruises to scratches to
bleeding cuts to. With tears running down his innocent face. Kuririn clenched
his fists, “How can someone do such a thing to a child?” He started to read the
paper in his hand:
“From this picture is my proof
That Son Goten is dead
This letter is written in blood
The blood of that child
I know my way around
You never knew I was here
Next to die
Is not a guy
Guess who I am
Before it’s too late…”
Gohan
recovered the other note and showed it to everyone. Once again they conjugated around
the coffee table this time it was more solemn and serious. Someone had died… A
child had died…
“From these
clues I can see that we can rule out Cell and Piccolo since they are big green
and powerful.” Yamucha stated.
Gohan stood
up, “I know Piccolo would have nothing to do with this!”
“Calm down.
I know, I know, but now a days we can’t trust anyone. Not even each other,”
Kuririn tried to ease Gohan back to a seating position.
“You know,
maybe we shouldn’t take these clues so literally. Gohan could have known this
guy from before seven years ago,” Bulma was agreeing with Kuririn
Vegeta
joined in, “Yeah, who knows, maybe Kakarotto’s brat did it.”
“What!?”
Gohan was outraged.
“Think
about it you were the only one that was around that brat! You could have easily
made the letters, token the picture and killed the kid.”
“Why would
I do that!? I was trying to protect him!!”
“Well looks
like you failed miserably!”
Yamucha
intervened, “Hold it! Hold it! We aren’t going to blame anyone. Besides remember
this important clue, Goten didn’t know the guy. From now one, everyone is one
their guard. We have got to stick together. Now we have all day to figure this
out. So lets get cracking!”
Grabbing a
hold of Oolong Puar reinstated what Yamucha said, “Yes we’ve got to stick
together!”
“Get off of
me!” Oolong tried his best to shove the cat off of him.
Kamesen’nin
laid out their information so far, “So the killer isn’t Cell or Piccolo, not a
new enemy, but powerful, and knows their way around Capsule Corp.”
“That could
only mean that the dude is one of us!” Yamucha concluded.
Gohan
resumed the conversation, “But what about the first clue, black, blue, red,
yellow, orange? It has got to have some significance.”
A sleepy little
girl walked into the room, still wearing her pajamas. She headed for her daddy,
and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Kuririn
looked into her sweet eyes, but couldn’t sum up the words to tell her, “Well
you see…”
“Goten
died.” Bulma had blurted it out.
“Oh nice
way to put it Bulma!”
Marron’s
eyes started to water. She didn’t have the many friends, and to know she had
lost one, it was in the least bit going to make her happy. Juuhachi-gou let go
of her normal facial feature to a more motherly face and hugged her daughter.
Tears were scrolling down the girl’s cheeks. Then after a few minutes after
soothing her baby, “What the hell are you starting at!?” Everyone immediately
took their eyes off of her to the first thing that caught their eye. Marron
sniffed a little as Kuririn dried her tears with a tissue.
Bulma continued, “But don’t you see, Goten can be wished
back to life! If some of us go to find the dragonballs then we’ll be all set!
First we should establish some ground rules. First, everyone must stay in here
(unless they are collecting dragonballs), two, everyone must have an alibi with
them at all times, three, we will all take sleeping shifts during the night. IF
we all follow those rules then I think we should be fine.”
“But who gets to go and who gets to stay?” asked Oolong.
“I’d rather go then be trapped in this place with some weirdo going after me.”
“Fine then, you can go! Vegeta and Gohan are definitely
staying. I think that Kuririn, Juuhachi-gou, Marron, and Trunks should go find
the dragonballs, mainly because we need our main enforcements here and that I
don’t want the kids getting harmed by any cost. If anyone would like to join
them then fine by me. After the seven days are done, then we’ll let you guys
back into Capsule Corp. So is it settled?” Everyone gave her a stern nod of the
head as an agreement.
So the chosen few to find the dragonballs were sent out
(with Oolong), as Capsule Corp. went on total lock down. There were now
isolated, but was it enough to stop the pscho? Floating high above the facility
there he was, a shadow like figure looking down upon the round building,
watching the five people leave. Or is it that the dragonball five are now in
great jeopardy?
*******
Well wasn’t
that an interesting turn of events? For all you Goten lovers, I’m sorry but
come on that’s just how the story goes. I’m actually not to sure on what’s
going to happen next so it might take me a little while for the next chapter to
come out. I’m kind of running out of ideas for clues on whom the villain is.
Hey when you review, because I know you will, tell me who you think it is. If
your right then maybe you’ll get a cookie or something. I don’t know. Well see
you until next chapter!
