WebRing is one of the best ways to find great sites. Similar sites are grouped together in rings and each site is linked to another by a simple navigation bar. Rings form a concentration of sites similar to a search engine directory, allowing visitors to quickly find what they are looking for. Each Ring is created and maintained by an individual website owner called the RingMaster. RingMasters determine the look and feel of the Ring, approve and manage member sites, and encourage other sites to join. RingMasters help to develop virtual communities based on the Ring topic. WebRings are free and easy.
This is an example of a WebRing Navigation Bar on our website: Grand Tour
Here is an example of a WebRing Hub: Dragonball Webring
As a large sum of webmasters know, it is very difficult to have one's website recognized, especially if one doesn't have the money to spend on sophisticated search engine submitions or has a low priority subdomain. In these common circumstances for fansites a WebRing is a perfect solution to this problem. For example: Let's say you join one of our WebRings, a person would be able to discover your site by either using the navigation code from another site (ie: next) or by seeing your listing in the WebRing hub. Also you can join more than one WebRing at a time, receive the traffic for all of your memberships, and only have to display one navigation bar*.
*This only works if all of your memberships are with WebRing.
Joining a WebRing is a very simple process. In most cases all a user needs to do is go to the WebRing hub and click on join. If you don't have a WebRing account you will be asked to make one. The account will keep track of all your WebRing memberships, make sure your navigation code is correct, and notify you when your website has been actived, denied, suspended, or deleted from a WebRing.
